5 Steps to clean a dirty hot tub filter

The filter should be inspected to determine if the filter material is intact and in good condition. If it has been torn, ripped, or is otherwise damaged, then the filter should be replaced since it cannot work effectively and cannot properly clean the water.

Particles and debris that have been captured by the filter will stay in the filter until it is cleaned out properly. If the filter is not cleaned regularly, it will become clogged with dirt and debris, which can cause restricted flow and flow related errors.

Using the Wand filter cartridge cleaner is an effective way to get rid of dirt and debris from pleated filters. This filter cleaner can be easily attached to any standard garden hose, making it a simple and convenient way to keep your filters clean.

Step 1 Begin the process by turning off all the jets on the hot tub.

Step 2 Gently remove the filter from the filter housing, making sure to keep any debris from entering the main chamber of the spa.

Step 3 Place the filter near a drain or away from the tub, and attach the Darlly Cyclone Filter Cleaner to the hose. Push the bristles into the pleats of the filter, and move them up and down while pressing the trigger to flush out all the unwanted deposits. This will help to remove a large amount of the particles that have been filtered out of the water.

Step 4 The filters should then be soaked overnight in a cleaning solution, such as theĀ Spatime Filter Cleaner. Follow the directions on the packaging to mix the solution, which can be done in a bucket. Submerge the filter(s) in the solution and leave them to soak overnight for a more thorough clean.

Step 5 After removing the filter from the solution, give it a thorough rinse with a garden hose to complete the procedure. Allow the filter to dry before use.

Having a filter that has been completely cleaned will result in more effective filtration than one that has not been adequately cleaned. To ensure continuous filtration and to preserve the quality of the water, it may be beneficial to have two sets of filters, so that one can be cleaned while the other is still in use.
